Hello, hope you’ve all had a great Monday. I can’t believe it’s the end of the first week of January already, the days have flown by.
I’d like to show you my take on Sir Tim’s January tag. Like the rest of us who took part in the 12 Tags of 2012, I’m so pleased Tim decided to continue this year, especially as he already has a more than hectic schedule. And very importantly, today is his birthday & he’s spending it at Disneyland in California, so…..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TIM!!!!!!
If you haven’t heard by now – where have you been??
– Tim has been previewing his new CHA releases on his BLOG since last week. There are some amazing new goodies coming our way, but today was the icing on the cake. Why? Two words…… DISTRESS PAINT!!! It looks terrific & the two burlap canvases Tim made with the paints are gorgeous. Click on the link & prepare to be wowed.
Below is the photo, from his blog, of Tim’s tag & you can see the other pictures & all the details HERE.
While I didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions, I am going to try to challenge myself more this year & I’ve decided that instead of tags all the time, I will use Tim’s techniques on other things, such as canvases, wooden substrates, etc.
I tried to use as many of Tim’s products as possible, but the gears are Donna Salazar dies for Spellbinders, the ticket is a Kanban stamp & the quote is from Chocolate Baroque’s Artistic Affirmations set.
I also followed all the techniques Tim used, with the addition of a little Spanish Topaz Treasure Gold from PaperArtsy, some extra cogs & screw brads & a slight spritz of Biscotti Perfect Pearls mist.
I love how the stamping looks on the seam binding & it was a happy accident that I had a scrap of mountboard in my stash, that matches the Weathered Wood distress stain on the seam binding almost perfectly.
Here is the finished piece, a little hanging that will go on the wall in my craft room. where I hope it will be joined by lots of other pieces throughout the year. Apologies for the rubbish photos, it was dark when I’d finished.
Thank you for looking & for all the lovely comments & encouragement. Until next time,
Love & light
Oh, that looks fab and it’s a great idea to use the techniques on something other than tags, that you can display! Will try and keep up this year, I think I did maybe 2 of last year’s!
That’s lovely Kirsten
Very nice!
Love how you used all of the elements and techniques in your own unique way!
It looks fantastic! x
Love that you are switching it up from tags! This take is fab and love the hanging!!!
Love this lots and lots and lots! Gosh, it looks amazing! I bet the hanging will be joined by other fabulous projects in no time!
This is a delight to see – the colours are super – especially your Weathered Wood matching! That sentiment is so true. I love the way you dated it too & brilliant that you’re keeping this yourself.
