Evening, I hope you’re having a splendid Saturday. I didn’t get as much time as I’d hoped to make anything today, but I managed to make two cards using some of Helen Chilton’s great techniques on the PaperArtsy blog this week.
I made the backgrounds using:
- Portfolio Oil Pastels,
- Fresco Finish paints; Snowflake, Nougat, Mermaid, Beach Hut, Eggplant
- Stamping; Lynne Perella stamps LPC001 & LPC 015. Minis 61 & 72
- Stencilling
- Washi tape
- Treasure Gold
- Ferro texture paste.
The images were stamped onto acetate as per Helen’s instructions, I love how you can see the background through the acetate.
I scraped the copper coloured Ferro paste through a stencil on one background & used a palette knife to add some to the other.
If you haven’t already done so, please visit the PaperArtsy blog to see Helen’s gorgeous creations. She has given us so many ideas this week & I want to attempt some more of them tomorrow.
Thanks for looking. Until next time,
Love & light

Awesome backgrounds Kirsten, thanks for being inspired to join in the fun. x
Stunning cards Kirsten! x
Looks absolutely intriguing – way outside anything I’ve tried.

Wow. Wow!! Wht a talent you have! Beautiful!
I will for sure forward this to Joan!
Great play on Helen’s techniques, your backgrounds really compliment the portrait stamps.
I really like these, the backgrounds are so rich with colour and texture, but don’t distract from the images. Jo xx
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Both of these are exceptional! The quilt like background is eye candy, and fab images too!
Wow I love the colours and textures in your background. That’s fantastic!
