I have decided to offer these two awards to whoever visits my blog. I have spent ages looking at so many blogs & they all seem to have these awards already, so help yourselves! 🙂
I hope everyone has had a nice weekend. Love & light.
To everyone. Hope you have had a good week. I purposefully stayed away from the computer the last few days, because I had some important cards to make & I didn’t want to be distracted – it is astonishing how quickly time goes by when you’re checking out all the beautiful crafting blogs & websites. I made four cards this week & I will post them over the next few days.
This one is for a docrafter who is going through a heartbreaking time at the moment. Those of us who miss her on the forum wanted to let her know we are thinking of her. I used Clare Curd’s docrafts’ sketch for this week – hope you can see the layout. The backing paper is from Dovecraft’s Laura Ashley Contemporary range. The daffodil stamp is from Papermania’s new set of unmounted stamps for Marie Curie Cancer Care – £2 of the £4.99 price goes to Marie Curie. I stamped the image four times with a Versafine Black Onyx ink pad, coloured each one with Whispers pens, cut out three of the flowers & layered them using foam pads. I wanted to heat emboss the image because I had bought lots of embossing powders for virtually nothing in one of the January sales on a crafting website – can’t remember which one. But guess which one I DON’T have? That’s right, I have no CLEAR embossing powder – grrrrr!! 🙂 So I used a clear lacquer instead on the image & now I have to buy more embossing powder. The ribbons are from Crafty Ribbons & everything else – flowers, pearly adhesive gems & sentiment – are from my stash. Hopefully, she will like it.
Tara at Happily Ever Crafting is giving away this gorgeous blog candy to celebrate 10,000 hits!! All she asks is that you follow her blog & tell her your favourite song. She will draw a winner on January 31.
I’m going to finish by saying how much Rica’s comment on my Tilda Challenge cards made me laugh. Honey, if you think your trail of debris is bad, you should see my front room – it looks like a tornado made a pitstop!! 🙂
Love & light.
Ooh, lots of pink in this blog candy from Katy! She is celebrating 4000 hits on her blog. She will draw a winner on January 28 so leave a coment & post a link on your blog & you could be the lucky winner!
Unfortunately, I can’t show you the third card yet. It’s for the birthday of someone who reads my blog & I don’t want her to see it yet.
Right, I’m off to curl up on the couch with a mug of lemon & ginger tea & Dawn Bibby on QVC.
Love & light to all.
I made these thank you cards last week, but I’ve only just uploaded them. As you can see, they’re very simple. I had to make six & I didn’t have a huge amount of time. I had the PP images already printed out & everything is from my stash – waste not, want not is the motto for 2009! The green, spotted paper on these two is DCWV.
The card on the left is made using pieces from a Dawn Bibby kit I got from QVC ages ago. The butterflies & the top piece of paper are from Crafty Individuals .
This card is for my friend Kelly, who celebrates a significant birthday tomorrow. I’ve hidden the number on the inside! 😉 So………..
Penny Black image, ‘Cinnamon’, stamped onto watercolour paper & coloured with Whispers pens. I then used lacquer pens to intensify the colours.
Matted onto turquoise lightweight cardstock, faux stitching border made with a finetip black pen.
The flourish was stamped onto the triangular piece of turquoise cardstock with Versamark, covered with Silver Pearl embossing powder, then heat embossed. The flourish stamp is Hero Arts & was a gift from Sarita.
The flowers are Prima & the jewelled brad is Papermania. The adhesive gems are from my stash.
This card & the ATC are for the daughter of a docrafter. The LO of the card is Loretta’s current challenge.
Again, I used Whispers pens & lacquer pens to colour Cinnamon. The floral backing paper is Papermania & the paper beneath that is from the Papermill. The flowers are Prima & the gems, brads, peel-offs, ribbon & butterfly are from my stash. The ATC is very simple. I used the same Papermill backing paper & the striped card is DCWV.
Some of you may remember that one of my New Year’s resolutions was to photograph my cards, instead of scanning them. Well, I tried, but the light is so bad at the moment that it’s a waste of time. I will keep trying tho’, especially as I noticed that at 4.30 this afternoon – IT WASN’T DARK!!! The days are getting longer, hooray!!
Ok, enough of my rambling. Love & light to all.
