Hello blog visitors, here we are on the last Wednesday in April. My friend, Jen, arrived from the USA yesterday, so my blog posts will probably be quite infrequent for the next two weeks. I want to show you three birthday cards today. The first two were commissions & the third I made for my second goddaughter’s 8th birthday.
This first one was inspired by a canvas I saw in a card making magazine, but I can’t remember which one, it was a few months ago that I saw it. The patterned papers are from Kaisercraft’s ‘Bonjour’ 6×6 collection. You’ll recognise Tim Holtz’ bird die, which cut from a lilac coloured Core’dinations scrap & embossed with a Sizzix swirls embossing folder. I gave the bird a very fancy tail by attaching metal leaf.
I cut the Marianne Design Creatables’ leaf swirl die from three different shades of green cardstock, added some flowers, with a large pearl brad in the centre of the biggest flower, a little wooden ladybird & some adhesive pearls.
Card number 2 was a lot simpler. The light bulbs are from The Artistic Stamper. I stamped ‘Happy Birthday’ with Brilliance & covered it with Versamark, then heat embossed with clear EP.
Card number 3 is a gatefold – how did I manage for so long without a scoring board?! The scalloped circles & lacy circle are Spellbinders dies & the ballerinas Marianne Design Creatables. The patterned paper on the inside is from my stash, I have it a long time & can’t remember where it’s from.
To give them some sparkle, I covered the ballerinas in Versamark & heat embossed with WOW Sparkle EP.
Thank you for visiting. Until next time,
Love & light
