Evening all, how goes it with you? It’s the end of an extra long bank holiday weekend here in the UK – the Brits have been celebrating the Queen’s 60 years on the throne in fine style, with enormous pomp & pageantry, which they do brilliantly.
I wasn’t celebrating, but I needed to make a birthday card & as I had some freebie Papermania papers, I thought why not go for red, white & blue?
I stamped the Tim Holtz dress form & button stamps on it with Coffee Archival ink – second & third generation stamping, so that the images would be quite faint. Then I blended Antique Linen & Frayed Burlap distress inks over the top.
The chipboard dress form is from Craftwork Cards. I stamped the swirl with Versamark, then heat set white embossing powder on top, before colouring it with distress inks – Walnut Stain, Tea Dye & Gathered Twigs. I put Frayed Burlap & Walnut Stain distress stickles on top.
I cut the rosette from another piece of the Papermania paper using a Tim Holtz die, added the Idea-ology gear, Ranger Beadazzles & the hat pins. The hinges are a PaperArtsy die. I covered a scrap piece of Kraft card with washi tape, (LOVE washi tape), then cut two hinges.
I attached everything to a 20x20cm, scalloped edge, white card, which I edged with Antique Linen DI & that’s it. What do you think?
Thanks for looking, until next time,
Love & light.
