Evening all, hope you had a great weekend. I’m cutting it very fine with my take on Tim’s April tag, but I’m so pleased I made it, especially as I didn’t make anything for March – I don’t have a single thing that Tim used & no matter how hard I tried, I could not come up with a way of adapting what I do have to his idea.
Anyway. Here is Tim’s gorgeous April tag & again, I don’t have the main ingredients, which are the Blueprint stamps, the Distress paints & the Clearly for Art. I used the metallic distress stains, a Mini Blueprint stamp, acetate & PaperArtsy’s Fresco paints instead.
I had bought a few door hangers from the MDF Man when I went to Ally Pally a few weeks ago & I decided to use one of them instead of a tag. Here it is.
This is hanger after I painted it with the Frescos, (Pesto, Sage, Mermaid, Beach Hut, Claret, Brown Shed) & added the metallic distress stains & then blended the distress inks, (Wild Honey, Faded Jeans, Vintage Photo), on top.
The distress stains were ok, but the metallic distress paints would have given a much better effect, so, yes, you’ve guessed it; I NEED them. I need the CFA too. I manage to curve the acetate slightly before I glued it to the bulb, but it’s not as effective as the CFA would be.
Because the light bulb image is small, I added some extra stamping, using assorted TH stamps & changed the layout slightly too. I also added Treasure Gold (Brass, Spanish Topaz, Aquamarine), to the metal embellishments.
That’s it for today, thanks for looking. Until next time,
Love & light
