PaperArtsy Challenge Inspired by Sue Carrington

Published August 10, 2013 by isisimaginings

Well, it’s been a great many weeks since I managed to take part in the PaperArtsy challenge, so I’m very proud of myself that I got something finished this week.

Sue has shown us gorgeous projects this week & I’ve combined a few of her techniques in this piece. I had planned on making something bigger, but I didn’t have the substrate I thought I did, so I used the solid part of a Tando arch as a template.

PA Challenge Aug 8 2013

On the inside I used PA fresco paints in Brown Shed, Pumpkin Soup, Zesty Zing, Bora Bora, Mermaid & Blood Orange.  And I got a pretty good crackle effect on the doors.  I used Lynn Perella stamps, set 005 & the words are from the Sara Naumann Eclectica set 02.

On the outside of the doors I used Stone, Mocha Mousse, Chocolate Pudding & French Roast over grunge paste & finished with Spanish Topaz TG.

This month is PaperArtsy’s 10th birthday & there lots of fantastic things happening on their blog, so if you haven’t already done so, pay them a visit.

I’m going to Stamperama in Stevenage tomorrow, it’s going to be a PaperArtsy meetup – hooray!!  I’ll try to blog about it tomorrow night.

Love & light.

  • Wow, this is brilliant Kirsten. Every single thing about it is great but I especially love the effect you have achieved on the outside of those doors. Fabulous stuff.
