PaperArtsy Challenge Inspired by Darcy Wilkinson

Published September 1, 2013 by isisimaginings

Good morning, as promised, (or threatened??), here’s my second piece for this week’s PaperArtsy challenge.

The amazing Darcy Wilkinson was back as the guest designer this week & every evening she had THE most incredible & beautiful creations to show us.  If you haven’t already done so, you need to go to the PaperArtsy blog & look at every single one of her posts – and don’t miss last night’s; not only did she create a stunning artwork, she also designed two new sets of stamps & they are gorgeous.

I found it impossible to choose which of her projects I was going to attempt, but finally chose her first project, the chalkboard, which I love.

I had a 22 x 22cm wooden board which I’d gessoed at some point, so I painted it with Squid Ink fresco paint.  When the paint was dry I went around the edges with Aquamarine Treasure Gold.

Following Leandra’s video from last week, about adding metallic paint to frescos, I painted some pieces of black card stock, die cut them with PA grunge flower dies & dry embossed them with a circles embossing folder.

I loved Darcy’s blobby flowers so I had to add them.  I used puff paint mixed with frescos.  The quote is from a set of Chocolate Baroque stamps, called Artistic Affirmations, I stamped it on to a piece of frayed canvas.  The border at the bottom is from PA Hot Pick set 1107.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any chalk, so I can’t add any writing to my chalkboard, but I think it turned out ok.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Until next time,

Love & light.
