There Are No Mistakes

Published September 29, 2013 by isisimaginings

Evening, hope everyone’s had a good day.  Many thanks for the kind comments on my blog post this morning, I’m thrilled to say that I’ve won a set of PaperArtsy stamps.  Yay!!  I’ve got various projects that I’ve finished recently so I’m going to try to post them here in the next few days.

Already with my art journaling I’ve found myself worrying about getting a page looking right, which is not what I wanted.  It’s supposed to be a place for trying out ideas, making a mess & not criticising myself for that mess.  This page was an attempt to not overthink.

It had left over paint on it initially, I made the paint quite watery & let it drip down the page.  Then I added the stencilling with Wendy Vecchi Orange Blossom & Watering Can Archival inks.  That’s a Prima stencil on the top left & a Donna Downey stencil on the lower right.

I applied grunge paste through another stencil & when it was dry swiped over the top with Picked Raspberry distress ink.  The Stampendous owl & Dylusions head were sitting on my desk so I added them too. Nothing special about this page, but it will do.

Until next time, love & light.

  • I absolutely know what you mean… I always sit down with a journal page thinking “it doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter” – but of course, by the time you’ve got five layers of stuff on and you’re really liking it, it DOES start to matter if the sixth layer doesn’t please you… especially when crafting time is scarce.

I love the owl and the raspberry dots – and I’ll take the sentiment to heart!
