Hello, thanks for very kind comments on my last blog post. Tonight I have quickly made a card for week 9 of the Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas challenge. Yes, I am behind, but only by three now & I am determined to have those three made & blogged by Sunday.
The BIG news is that Linda is extending the challenge into January, with two extra tags. So, if you think you can get fourteen tags made in the next few weeks, you’ll find the details about that HERE. The requirements for all tags are HERE. The Funkie Junkie Boutique is sponsoring the challenge & there are prizes & a very generous discount on FJ products if you complete all fourteen.
For this card I was inspired by Linda’s background, the snowflake on the label & the heart. Her week 9 tag is HERE.
I used Faded Jeans & Brushed Pewter distress stains on the background card, swiping & dipping until I was happy. I applied a little Star Dust stickles to add some extra bling. I cut the snowflake from a heavyweight card, using a Memory Box die. I heat embossed it a few times with silver embossing powder. The final time I added some blue fran’tage EP, but that wasn’t very successful. The sentiment is a Chocolate Baroque stamp & the music score on the label is a Crafty Individuals stamp.
You can see the shimmer from the stickles here.
I thought long & hard about adding extra embellishments to the card, but I think I like it as it is. The snowflake is so detailed I think it should be the focal point.
Thanks for looking & thanks again to Linda for the inspiration, see you next time.
