PaperArtsy Challenge Inspired by Jo Myhill

Published December 28, 2013 by isisimaginings

Evening all, I hope the recent awful weather didn’t play too much havoc with your Christmas celebrations. We had some sunshine today, which has been sorely lacking in recent weeks.

After a lot of thought I made a journal page today for this week’s PaperArtsy challenge. Jo Myhill was the guest designer & all her projects were beautiful & a feast for the eyes, full of layers & amazing textures.  There were so many ideas to choose from, but I chose her first piece as it was slightly less dimensional.

Apart from the paint & Treasure Gold colours, I followed along with Jo’s tutorial. My background was Squid Ink, Inky Pool, Sage & Tinned Peas frescos & I really wasn’t sure about it, but it looks ok now with the torn tissue paper on top.

I’ve run out of metal card, so the heart was cut from black card painted with a mix of frescos & metallic silver paint, with Royal Amethyst TG on top, followed by a dark blue embossing powder.

That’s it, thanks for looking & thank you to Jo for sharing all those wonderful ideas.

  • Wonderful journal page Kirsten! The bold colours look fabulous and I love the layering. Well done on making an entry. We’ve not been back too long from a lovely day at Jamie’s so I think it’s a bit too late for me to get something done.
