New Year New PaperArtsy Challenge

Published January 8, 2014 by isisimaginings

Hello, a late post from me tonight, hope everyone is ok. It’s a new semester on the PaperArtsy blog & that means new guest designers. This week it has been Clare Lloyd. Clare is a new artist to me & I’ve enjoyed looking at the fantastic work on her blog. Her PA projects are all gorgeous & tonight’s journal page is based on her third piece & the colours based on the second project.

I only have a few of the Squiggly Ink stamps, (thanks to a generous friend) & I was glad I have the same dotty stamp that Clare used, so that I could copy her border strip.  I stamped the house, angel & heart on to white card, coloured them with frescos – Beach Hut, Mermaid, Smoked Paprika & Zesty Zing – cut them out & glued them to the page. I stamped the quote a second time & attached it with foam pads.

I’ve started a canvas based on Clare’s second project & I hope to showed you that tomorrow night. See you then.

  • This is lovely Kirsten! It’s beautifully balanced and I’ve fallen in love with those colours. I really fancied doing a textured canvas inspired by Clare’s but not sure if I have any suitable Squiggly Ink stamps. Hope for some playtime (& energy) tomorrow night.

  • Loving your new blog look, how did I not see this already?!! Love your Clare inspired piece, it looks fabulous.. I was just thinking I didn’t have much I could use for one of her challenges… but you’ve helped me.

  • Your spotty border is delightful with the way it picks out the colours & picks up on the stars in your angel – she looks brilliant paired with the sentiment on the house. A really delightful way of using these stamps. Your post really made me smile.

  • I thought I got lost…. didn’t recognise your blog after its facelift! Love the owl by the way… I like your page too, clean and simple.
