For the first time in MONTHS , I have actually made something for the current PaperArtsy challenge, the theme of which is ‘Shiny Stuff’……………….
The challenge closes in less than an hour, so I better get a move on.
Grunge paste scraped randomly with a palette knife onto a piece of greyboard. Gesso, then Fresco paints; Guacamole, Limelight, Old Gold. (Thanks to Sam & my other Twitter friends for their help with colours) I used a paintbrush, baby wipes & my fingers to blend the paints.
I added Florentine & White Fire Treasure Gold to some of the Old Gold areas……………..
This week saw the launch of dozens of new PaperArtsy products – if you missed the excitement, start HERE – and one of the many things I loved was a new JoFY stencil, so I used the one I do have – PS007 – to create the same result, using Eggplant Fresco paint, adding white dots with a Signo Uniball pen.
I used Wendy Vecchi’s black embossing paste through PS008 & when it was dry, brushed clear Wink of Stella on top……………
My original idea was for something brighter & the ‘shiny stuff’ is quite subtle, so I hope it’s acceptable. Thanks to everyone on the PA blog for all the inspiration.
I’m entering this into the PaperArtsy Challenge HERE.
Thanks for looking.

Brilliant piece Kirsten! What a great idea with the stencil. I shall remember that one if I don’t manage to get the new one shortly as it’s one of my favourites too. Love all the texture you created and the subtle sparkle. It worked beautifully!
